Thien Ho Takes Aim at the MAGA Majority Protecting the “Rich, Powerful and Corrupt”
SACRAMENTO, CA — In case you missed it, Sacramento County District Attorney Thien Ho spoke with CNN, KCRA, ABC10, FOX 40, and CBS 13 on the day he launched his campaign for Congress. Ho highlighted his top priorities: lowering health-care costs, supporting struggling working families, and defending democracy.
Below are excerpts from Ho’s interviews.
“As a refugee from Vietnam, as the prosecutor who brought the Golden State Killer to justice, I’ve spent my entire career protecting and fighting for the vulnerable, the voiceless, the victims. I’m running for Congress to defend public safety and our freedoms, to reduce the cost of living so the American Dream in California is within reach of everybody.”
“I’m running for Congress to defend our public safety and our freedoms and to make sure that the cost of living in California is reduced so that the American Dream, the California Dream, is still within reach for everyone. Insiders in Washington right now are playing politics, and I promise to deliver results — deliver results for the issues that people in our community really care about.”
“Republicans like Kevin Kiley […], Donald Trump and the MAGA majority are not focused on the issues people in our community care about. For example, I care deeply about the high cost of living. Families right now are getting crushed by inflation — the cost of housing, the cost of groceries, the cost of health care.”
“I wasn’t born into politics. I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I’m an outsider. […] Before running for District Attorney, I hadn’t even run for class secretary. I spent 20-plus years of my life as a public servant, representing the community in the courtroom. My focus is on the things that make this country great. I came to this country receiving a second chance, and I see so many people in this country not getting a second chance. We need to make sure that we’re not just getting by, but moving forward. Democracy works best when it works for everybody, not just the rich, the powerful, and the corrupt.”
“When I talk to Californians the message is loud and clear [...] We are talking about putting food on the table; we are talking about making sure that we are safe where we live, where we work and making sure that the American Dream is accessible to everyone.”
“I’m here to deliver results. I’m here as an experienced leader [...] who runs an organization that has a hundred million dollar budget [...] that everyday is delivering justice and results in the community and the courtroom. I'll take that same fight to Congress.”
“I’m running for Congress because this race can break Trump’s MAGA majority […] I’m not an insider in Washington playing politics. What I am is an immigrant and a refugee, somebody that understands what it is to be hungry, to be poor, to use their grit and determination to achieve success and the American dream.”
