Wilton Rancheria Announces Endorsement of Thien Ho for California’s 6th Congressional District Seat
ELK GROVE, CA — Today, Wilton Rancheria announced its endorsement of Thien Ho for California’s 6th Congressional District Seat, recognizing his leadership in public safety and his commitment to addressing the crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP).
Under DA Thien Ho’s leadership, the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office partnered with Wilton Rancheria and the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office in establishing a first-of-its-kind regional task force focused on MMIP. The agreement formalized collaboration between Tribal and local law enforcement, strengthened investigations, and created more coordinated responses for MMIP cases across the region.
Beyond Sacramento County, Thien Ho has continued to elevate MMIP as a priority, engaging with Tribal leaders, law enforcement partners, and policymakers across California to drive awareness and action, including at the Annual MMIP Summit, Indian Gaming Conference, and the State of Public Safety.
“As he seeks to serve in Congress, we know Thien Ho will take this fight with him,” said Chairman Jesus Tarango. “He understands that protecting our people doesn’t stop at county lines; it requires federal attention, federal resources, and leaders who are willing to carry this work forward. That’s the kind of leadership our communities deserve.”
Wilton Rancheria is Sacramento County's only federally recognized Tribe, with more than 1,000 citizens. The Tribe has established itself as a leader in public safety partnerships, economic development, cultural preservation, and regional collaboration.
The Tribe is proud to stand with Thien Ho and support his candidacy for California’s 6th Congressional District.
