On Day One, Democrat Thien Ho Scores High-Profile Endorsements
Ho Launches Campaign for Congress with Support from Sacramento Mayor Kevin McCarty, Assemblymember Stephanie Nguyen, Among Others
SACRAMENTO, CA — On the heels of his launch for California’s 6th congressional district, Sacramento County District Attorney Thien Ho announced his support from a coalition of highly respected elected leaders. On the first day of his campaign for Congress, Ho received endorsements from Sacramento Mayor Kevin McCarty, Assemblymember Stephanie Nguyen, Sacramento County Supervisor Rich Desmond, Sacramento City Councilmember Phil Pluckebaum, and Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen.
“I am proud to endorse Thien Ho for California’s 6th Congressional District,” McCarty said. “As Sacramento County District Attorney, Thien has been an invaluable partner to the City of Sacramento, working alongside us to keep our neighborhoods safe, reduce crime, and hold violent offenders accountable. I’ve seen firsthand his dedication, integrity, and results-driven leadership. He understands what it takes to deliver real results — not empty political rhetoric — for our families and stand up to Trump and MAGA extremists.”
“At a time when so many hardworking Californians are struggling, we need a true fighter representing us in Congress,” Nguyen said. “Thien is exactly the kind of partner we need in Congress to fight to lower costs, strengthen working families, and expand access to good-paying jobs. Thien Ho’s story of resilience, grit, and determination makes him the clear choice for this moment. That’s why I’m proud to support him 100%.”
“As a former CHP Chief, attorney, and now a Sacramento County Supervisor, I’ve learned that true leadership means giving back, helping others, and serving the community above all else,” Desmond said. “Thien embodies those values. He is laser-focused on the defining challenges of our time — from addressing homelessness and strengthening economic development to investing in critical infrastructure and making sure every voice is heard in Congress. I’m confident that we would be in good hands with Thien as the next representative for California’s Sixth Congressional District.”
“I’m proud to endorse my friend Thien Ho for Congress,” Pluckebaum said. “Thien is a proven problem solver — compassionate, principled, and exceptionally sharp. I know he’ll be a powerful advocate for safe neighborhoods, the protection of our natural spaces, and greater affordability for families. Thien shares my deep commitment to building a better, stronger Sacramento, and I trust him to always put people first in Congress.”
“I am proud to support my dear friend Thien Ho for Congress,” Singh-Allen said. “In these divisive times where both parties are fighting each other, we need someone who can collaborate and bring us together. Thien has a history of working with Democrats, Republicans and Independents. I've seen first-hand Thien's hard work and dedication for our region. We've worked closely together to make Elk Grove a place where families are safe and businesses can thrive. We need a problem solver for the many challenges in our country and region including health care and immigration reform, public safety, and economic resiliency. I have no doubt that Thien Ho will represent Congressional District 6 with the same honesty, integrity, and fairness that he has shown as our District Attorney.”
